Established in 1979, the Community Dispute Settlement Center (CDSC) is a private, not-for-profit mediation and training center dedicated to providing an alternative and affordable forum for resolving conflict. CDSC promotes better ways to understand and deal with conflict through skilled teams of volunteer mediators, training programs in mediation and conflict management, and broad community outreach. We are committed to making our services accessible to underserved populations and to addressing emerging community needs.
Job Description
CDSC is seeking to fill the position of Office Manager. This key staff position oversees CDSC’s administrative functions, including general communications, social media and non-grant fundraising as well as data collection and grant reporting to funders.
Key Responsibilities
What you’ll do…
- Communications: manage overall contacts with CDSC data base, donors, and mediators, including quarterly newsletter, periodic mediator emails as well as CDSC’s social media: Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
- Outreach/Marketing: Publicize CDSC events and trainings. Provide administrative support for CDSC’s 32-hour Mediation training, i.e. class lists, certificates.
- Events Management: oversee communication aspects of CDSC’s fundraising events, specifically the Annual BASH, production and distribution of the Annual Friends Appeal along with the Annual Report, and Volunteer Appreciation Event.
- Record Keeping & Data Entry: maintain all record-keeping for CDSC, including mediation cases, donor records, Mediator contact & Board/Advisory Board member lists.
- General Admin: manage incoming client inquiries via the web and phone, and route to the appropriate staff person. Work with CDSC bookkeeper, managing deposits, PayPal transfers and credit card charges.
- Assists Executive Director: participates in volunteer mediator and intern interviews and assists with other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

- Excellent skills and proficiency in using office technology, including Zoom, Excel MS Word, Google documents and Google sheets.
- Proven ability to work independently and creatively
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Skilled at using social media or interested in learning

More Info:
- The position will report to the Executive Director
- Work will be flexibly hybrid: with both virtual and some in-person workdays.
Salary and Benefits
This is a position for a minimum of 30 hours and a maximum of 37.5 hours per week.
- Salary range: $39,000- $48,750
Benefits include vacation & holiday time, sick pay, and a stipend to contribute to the candidate’s own health insurance.
