School educators at a Zoom Professional Development event

Peer Mediation is when students mediate for their peers, for example in a school setting. Research has demonstrated that mediation is more effective when conducted by peers. CDSC offers mediation training for students (and a school staff member), as well as program support throughout the year. Our goal is to help you create and sustain a successful Peer Mediation program in your school.

Cases appropriate for mediation include: issues that come up between young people in or outside of school, issues that happen outside of the school environment. Mediation is not appropriate for situations including: sexual harassment, bullying or violence.
